Rajasthan reports 36 new Kovid-19 cases, positive cases now reach 2,221 on Monday

The Rajasthan Health Department said on Monday that six new cases of coronovirus disease have been reported to covid-19 in Rajasthan.  The total number of cases in the state is 2,221.

  Three more people died of the disease in the state.  According to Health Department data, the total death rate in the state at 9 am was 44.

  Data from the health department showed that nine more patients have tested positive for covid-19 in Jaipur and Jhalawar, while six people have died in Jodhpur and Tonk.  Four new cases have been reported from Kota and one each from Bhilwara and Jaisalmer.

  With 817 covid-19 positive cases, the state capital Jaipur is ahead in overall numbers, followed by Jodhpur (370), Kota (162), Ajmer (123), Tonk (121) and Nagaur (113).
  Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Rohit Kumar Singh said that so far 629 patients have tested negative for infection after treatment, of which 263 have been discharged from hospitals.

  In Jaipur, more than 80 percent of the cases have been reported from the Ramganj neighborhood.  A 45-year-old man, who returned from Oman on 13 March and tested positive on 26 March, is a superspreader causing at least 232 infections.

  The lockout has been in operation across the state since 22 March and large-scale survey and screening is underway to track people infected with the virus.

  Meanwhile, 102 new cases were reported on Sunday.  This includes 38 from Jodhpur, 20 from Nagaur, 16 from Jaipur, 11 from Ajmer, 9 from Kota, 2 from Dhaulpur and 1 each from Banswara, Bharatpur, Hanumangarh, Jhalawar, Sikar and Udaipur.  As of Sunday afternoon, there were more than 100 Kovid-19 cases in seven districts of the state.
